"THE CABIN"

The cabin gets it's name from the store that once occupied the building. It was built around 1905 and was the first store in West Bridgton. When CE Cobb bought the property, in 1914, he added the second floor to The Lodge and used The Cabin as a store and office for The Denmark Lodge. He also founded and owned Camp Winona across the pond and Camp Wyonegonic on the Lower Basin of the pond. Campers from Camp Winona would paddle across the pond to get candy and ice cream from the store. To this date candy is referred to by the campers as "lodge".

Current use has been mainly as a storage building although the porch is a nice place to sit and watch the kids play at the beach. Our future plan for The Cabin is to clean it out and use it as a recreation / sitting area type space. There is plenty of room for a ping-pong table and the views across the pond are great. Prior owners neglected this building. When the weather warms in spring (2004) The Cabin will get a fresh coat of paint.
